Role
Lead Designer
Wayfarer set out to inspire young adventurers to explore the world, but the challenge was to design a platform that felt both exciting and practical, a balance of wanderlust and usability. The experience needed to showcase destinations in a way that sparked curiosity while guiding users smoothly toward personalised recommendations.
I built the design around a nature-inspired palette of deep turquoise and warm orange, paired with soft, rounded typography to create a friendly and approachable tone. Strong imagery featuring young travellers and scenic locations anchored the design, while icons and clear layouts made dense content easy to navigate. The homepage placed top destinations, real testimonials, and a simple search feature front and centre, while a multi-step sign-up form collected user preferences to personalise the journey. Every element was crafted with responsiveness in mind, ensuring mobile users experienced the same clarity and inspiration as desktop visitors.
The result was a platform that blended inspiration with function. Users were drawn in by bold visuals and a sense of adventure, and stayed engaged thanks to thoughtful design choices that made discovery feel effortless. From the first scroll to the final sign-up, the site delivered a seamless journey that reflected the excitement of travel.
